Dr.
Sheila Kumari-Subaiya
is a New York State licensed Diplomate of the American Board
of Radiology, certified in Diagnostic Radiology since 1975.
She obtained her M. D. from Madras University, India.
Following a year of internship and two years of pediatric
residency at Grasslands Hospital, Valhalla, New York, Dr.
Kumari-Subaiya completed her three year Diagnostic Residency at
the Veterans Hospital, Bronx, New York. Veterans
Hospital is affiliated with Montefiore Hospital, Mount Sinai Medical
Center and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.
Dr.
Kumari-Subaiya was the Section Head of the Ultrasound
Department at Long
Island Jewish Hospital from 1977 to 1987 and an Associate Professor
of Radiology, in 1987, at Stony Brook Medical Center, Stony
Brook, New York.
Dr. Kumari-Subaiya has
published many articles regarding Ultrasound and has lectured
extensively in Ultrasound and Mammography. She has served as
Director of UDMS, a school for technologists, for 5 years.
In addition, Dr. Kumari-Subaiya has conducted review courses for technologists
at SUNY Downstate Medical School and has served as an examiner for Ultrasound
technologists. She has continued her medical education
by taking interactive medical courses on
Breast Ultrasound.
